How do you know if I’m the right therapist for you? Good question.

The technicalities are covered by my three degrees, which include a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a clinically qualified Psychotherapist registered with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and I am also a member of the PACFA College of Psychotherapy.

Yes, I work with men, women, couples, families, teens and children. I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, trauma and personality disorders. I have a specialty area in supporting adolescents and my focus is on supporting these issues within the context of the family structure.

Both by nature and by training I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist, and I am experienced, trained and qualified in working with Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Person Centred Therapy and Family Systems Therapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy.

But these are simply tools in my therapy toolbox. Here’s what we know about therapy: we know that it isn’t really these or any other particular modality I integrate into our work together that will make the difference.

It’s the therapeutic relationship that we build together that matters. It’s about trust. It’s about finding a place where patterns can be identified and real change can begin.

I am not a psychotherapist that will suit everyone, and you might want to be wary of anyone who claims they are. I will care deeply about your outcome and I will absolutely be in your corner supporting you – but I may also challenge your assumptions and habits, if change is required.

It’s my role to support your exploration of change while we try to interrupt the repeating circles and patterns of thought and behaviour that brought you to me.

We’ll work together to create the change you’re looking for.
